Abstract: National imaginaries of the so-called Andean countries show a consistent preference for partial representations of the Amazon. This is true as well of images of Amazonia globally. Literary studies, surprisingly, are responsible for this incompleteness. Indigenous art, nevertheless, flourishes in interculturalism. And the archive of 20th-century non-indigenous Amazonian fiction proves to be a site of resilience to a history of social-ecological disturbances. Event flyer here. More information here.
