RCEI Clean Energy Certificate & Fellowship

Rutgers Climate and Energy Institute (RCEI) and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) have partnered to launch a clean energy workforce accelerator that pairs classroom instruction with public-sector experience. This partnership is defined by two Master’s-level graduate initiatives: The RCEI Clean Energy Certificate & The RCEI Clean Energy Fellowship.

Clean Energy Certificate

The RCEI Clean Energy Certificate is a 9-credit interdisciplinary credential that provides Master’s graduate students cross-disciplinary training in engineering, policy, and economics. Students who complete this certificate are positioned to bridge engineering, public policy and private markets in clean energy roles by aligning academic insights with industry needs and policy navigation.

Clean Energy Fellowship

The Clean Energy Fellowship is a paid placement within BPU's Division of Clean Energy (DCE) and Office of Federal and Regional Policy (OFRP). This fellowship is available to Rutgers Master's students who want to advance clean energy policy alongside clean energy leaders. This fellowship is offered every Spring, Summer, and Fall semester.
