Transdisciplinary Energy Research Opportunities: What’s Coming Down the Pike and How to Influence Them Going Forward?

Monday, June 17 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

RCEI is pleased to announce a virtual briefing for RCEI affiliates on federal funding sources for renewable energy, energy technology, and energy conservation, which will be held June 17th at 1pm.  This briefing will provide valuable insights into opportunities from agencies such as the DOE, NSF, and others, and how our affiliates can engage in these efforts.

Professor Dunbar Birnie, the RCEI Area Lead in this space recently participated in a SETO (Solar Energy Technologies Office) program review related to a Rutgers agrivoltaics grant. He has agreed to share his insights from this meeting, which will complement the main briefing from Lewis-Burke Associates, alongside a Q&A portion.

Key topics to be covered include:

  1. Cross-Disciplinary Projects: Upcoming funding opportunities for faculty from various disciplines, including from outside engineering and natural sciences.
  2. RFI/FOA Participation: Encouraging faculty to engage in the RFI/FOA processes to identify gaps and needs recognized by funders, leading to new opportunities. The time investment is minimal but can yield significant long-term rewards.

You must register to attend here.
